What we collect
When you sign up for Tallyio, we collect your name, email, and phone number. When you log expenses via SMS, we store the amount, category, merchant, date, and the original message text for debugging.
How we use it
We use your phone number to identify you on inbound SMS, to send you confirmations of logged expenses, and to alert you when you're at 80% or over a category budget. We never sell your data, and we never share it with third parties beyond the providers we use to operate the service (Twilio for SMS, Google Gemini for natural-language parsing, Microsoft Azure for hosting and database storage).
SMS consent
You opt in to SMS by checking the consent box on the sign-up form at tallyio.com and then replying YES to the confirmation message we text you. We will not send you any SMS beyond that one confirmation until you reply YES.
Once active, the only messages we send are: (1) one-line confirmations after each expense you text us, (2) an 80% budget warning per category (at most once per month), and (3) an over-budget warning per category (at most once per month). Frequency varies based on how often you text us expenses — most users receive a few messages per week. Message and data rates may apply. We do not send marketing or promotional messages, and we never share or sell your phone number to third parties.
You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any Tallyio message, or by disabling SMS from your account settings. See our SMS messaging program terms for full details and sample messages.
